English proverb of the day

"The negative side of the American Dream comes when people pursue success at any cost, which in turn destroys the vision and the dream "

Gaining a recognized position & earning incredibly high salary in your field of expertise are most people’s dreams. To pursue these payoffs, workers work hard and students study hard. However, achieving that goal in a decent manner is far from easy. As a result, some people use their own talent and their endeavor, whereas some choose shorter and less transparent ways.
Recently, the IELTS community has solicited a wave of anger for some highly respected trainers whose names are so familiar to us. Some of these instructors either exaggerated or falsified their IELTS certificates to deceive the public. To make matters worse, when the information of these wrongdoings leaked, the convicted opted for making excuses, beating around the bush or giving no explanation instead of apologizing to their learners for their misbehavior.
Due to these recent scandals, it got me thinking that whether these wrongdoers had once thought about possible responsibilities they would bear if someone detected it one day. In addition, these scandalous events could have higher chances of becoming stigmas which are hard to fade away for many years to come.
As for psychological reasons, we people usually face the dilemma of prioritizing between existing monetary benefits and our code of conduct – a so-called “work ethics”.
Let’s join us and share some of your thoughts about this topic!!!
    QUESTIONS TO PONDER:

In your expertise, can you share with us about case studies of people who are willing to take risks and ignore their work ethics to achieve their goals?
Being an angel bears a striking difference to being an evil. Which one is your preference, sticking to your belief system of doing the right thing or pursuing your goals at all costs?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes, offenders are involved in illegal acts due to their family burdens such as cases of prostitution or petty crimes. Do you agree or disagree with this idea?

    HUMOR (September 8, 2019)

    (10:37:25 AM 06/09/2019)

Everybody likes laughter. It seems like one little witty joke might be able to save a whole bad day. Every time the stand up comedian completes his sentence, the entire theater goes wild. Everyone who has a sense of humor is automatically recognized as attractive and honourable. In modern society, people who have an acceptable sense of humor have a huge benefits over the ones who don’t. Jobs which are usually done rhythmically and algorithmically are now done with comfort and happiness. By that list of saying, everybody likes to have a sense of humor, right?
Everybody likes laughter. It seems like one little witty joke might be able to save a whole bad day. Every time the stand up comedian completes his sentence, the entire theater goes wild. In modern society, people who have an acceptable sense of humor have a huge benefits over the ones who don’t. Jobs which are usually done rhythmically and algorithmically are now done with comfort and happiness. By that list of saying, everybody likes to have a sense of humor, right?
However, humor is easier said than done. In an attempt to be funny, one can appear as awkward and ridiculous to another person. The action which is supposed to boost someone’s sphere of attraction would completely backfire. There are also evidence of discrimination to those who lack the sense of humor; people either back off, not communicate, or even disrespect these unfortunate people. People with a sense of humor are often ranked high in the hierarchy system. They are well trusted, have good connections with other people, and get more honourable jobs than those who don’t. Meanwhile, the people who lack a sense of humor tend to be underestimated and discriminated. They have to get into lower jobs, and are low in hierarchy. With this being said, the desire to possess a sense of humor seems to be massive.
So is humor a good thing to pursue? Is society going to benefit from humor, or is it just a complication towards people showing off their intelligence through their jokes? What are the good and bad sides of humor? And what does it take for one to be so humorous? Let’s discuss.

    QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
What is humor? Do you see yourself as humorous?
What are the criteria for humor?
How many types of humor are there?
What are the good and bad sides of humor?
How do you use humor in your daily life to make it better?
