English proverb of the day

"The negative side of the American Dream comes when people pursue success at any cost, which in turn destroys the vision and the dream "

How to fire your imagination? (May 26, 2019)

    (18:00:10 PM 25/05/2019)

When I was in school, my body was in the classroom, but my mind was elsewhere. It was in Hogwarts – the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I was learning how to manipulate my magic wand, cast spells, charms and curses. The game I played was not as trivial as football or badminton; it was Quidditch (1). I contemplated my personal traits, wondering whether I fitted Gryffindor, or I actually belonged to Hufflepuff or Slytherin? (2) I knew that I would destined to engage in the final battle with the most dangerous wizard of all time: the Lord Voldemort. If Avada Kedavra (3) failed to bring an end to him, perhaps I would resort to Kamejoko (4)!
I was surrounded by people who told me that I should have been more down to earth. I should have faced up to reality instead of facing the Dark Lord. And yes, I went to university (of course not Hogwarts) in the hope that I would have a good job with a decent salary. I had to set aside “the Hogwarts dream” and faced facts like any other people, but to my mind, my imaginative little world was far more meaningful compared to this mundane world!
Your teachers and parents may tell you that you will reach your true potential if you face facts. But now you may argue that it is your imagination that your true potentials lay on. Let’s come to Advance and fire your imagination.
    (1) Quidditch: a sport of two teams of seven players each mounted on broomsticks played on a hockey rink-sized pitch.
    (2) Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin: houses of Hogwarts. Gryffindor values courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry. Hufflepuff values hard work, patience, justice, and loyalty. Ravenclaw values intelligence, creativity, learning, and wit. Slytherin values ambition, cunning, leadership, and resourcefulness.
    (3) Avada Kedavra: one of the three Unforgivable Curses
    (4) Kamejoko: an energy attack in Dragon Ball series.

    QUESTIONS TO PONDER:
    1. Einstein once said: “imagination is more important than knowledge.” What is your opinion? What is the importance of imagination?
    2. What happens with those who seriously lack imagination? What is the cause? Is there any solution?
    3. What are signs indicating a highly imaginative person? If imagination is your innate strength, how to make use of it?
    4. Children are more imaginative than adults. Do you agree? Why?
    5. Is there any trouble with those who are too imaginative?
