CIVIL COURAGE (Sự can đảm của công chúng) (December 2, 2018)

    (20:11:40 PM 30/11/2018)

Civil courage  is a type of courage, related closely to heroism, in which a person  acts bravely to intervene in a social situation. (Wikipedia)
"Speak or ignore?" is a question that has been raised over the years in  our society. All of us has witnessed bad behaviors in community, in  studyplace, in workplace, in neighborhood, etc. When we were young,  those actions could simply are to see your classmates cheating in exams,  to see bullying after class. When we grow up, these actions we see  become more social, such as pocket picking on buses; stealing on  streets, and so on.

    Be honest!

Have you ever seen these evils and pretended not to see?
Do you feel guilty when you do not speak up?
Why are we afraid to speak out?
The courage of public - the civil courage - is the spirit that is  called in many countries to build a better society, containing a  message: speak is much harder than ignore, but otherwise, nobody gets  anything.
But, practically, have you ever noticed daily heroes,  such as “street knights” on Saigon streets or high school girl Song Toan  voiced when her teacher was silent in her lectures? Have their lives differred after acting and speaking?
Let's discuss, find the root causes and solutions for how to be good people but still keep yourself safe.

    Suggestions to discuss:
    1. What are reasons for silence of good people?
    2. What are social consequences caused by silence of good people?
    3. Is there a type of person who will always help?
    4. How do you teach your children on civil courage?/ How were you taught on civil courage?
    5. Let’s brainstorm on skills/ tips needed to protect ourselves while showing civil courage.
"The world suffers a lot. Not because of the violence of bad people but because of the silence of good people.”
    - Napoleon Bonaparte -
